Last weekend I asked my friend Sapta, who co-run a darkroom rental called Wash & Burn at Pasar Santa, to develop a roll of film that had been lying inside my analogue camera since 2014. So I found some photos from this festival which took place five years ago!
Few days before the event, I read a post on Luky’s facebook account saying that his performance at Festival Seperlima on October 26 would be his last one in Jakarta.
I have been a long time fan of Luky Annash – so when I heard from his manager Dee that he was going to have a solo gig, I felt highly obligated to come.
I didn’t know why, but I felt really gloomy that day. I somehow sensed that something bad was going to happen. So at the event that was so gezellig and musically inspiring, I came alone with a dark cloud shrouded over me.
I know this is probably rather late, but I have been having so many projects in the last few months, so I never really have time to review what sort of music I have been listening to in the past year.
I thought I had missed his performance when I arrived at the venue half an hour after scheduled time. But then I was lucky that the whole event was terribly delayed by a loud-noised event involving Dennis Rodman next to the event ground.
Luky Annash, twice a weekend. If the day before Luky had been a piano butcher, that Sunday he was an evil pianist.
THE PIANO BUTCHER.
I finally went to see Luky Annash, hooray!
